Bernard Cornwell

By far the best book of the trilogy. Much more character agency, and much less exposition.

Very much a book of two halves. It starts off slowly with far too much exposition, but develops into an interesting story by the end.

A definite step down in quality from the other books by Cornwell that I have read. Too much exposition, and too little plot or character agency.
